Los Premios al Cine de la Academia Británica (BAFTAS, por sus siglas en inglés), en su edición número 76, fueron entregados este domingo 19 de febrero de 2023.
La ceremonia se realizó en el Royal Festival Hall de Londres (la primera vez, desde 2016, que no se lleva a cabo en el Royal Albert Hall de la capital inglesa).
Los galardones son destinados a lo mejor del cine británico y filmes extranjeros de 2022.
El filme alemán All Quiet on the Western Front (Todo tranquilo en el frente Poniente), es la producción que contó con más nominaciones, 14 en total, ganando 7 premios, como Mejor Película, Mejor Director para Edward Berger y Mejor Filme en Idioma no Inglés.
The Banshees of Inisherin y Everything Everywhere All at Once, obtuvieron con 10 menciones cada una. La primera se adjudicó con 4 trofeos, como Filme Británico y para los dos actores de reparto, Kerry Condon y Barry Keoghan; la segunda, 1.
En el lado del habla hispana, fueron nominados: el filme Argentina, 1985 (como Mejor Filme en Idioma no Inglés); el director mexicano Guillermo del Toro (Por Pinocchio, en Filme Animado); la actriz cubana, Ana de Armas (como Mejor Actriz, por Blonde); la directora nacida en España, Elena Sánchez Bellot (compartido con la directora Maia Kenworthy, por Rebellion, en la categoría de Debut Destacado) y el director de fotografía chileno, Claudio Miranda (por Top Gun: Maverick). Solamente ganó Pinocchio de Guillermo del Toro como Filme Animado.
Elvis, ganó 4 preseas de sus 9 nominaciones, entre las que se cuentan la de Austin Butler, como Mejor Actor.
El reconocimiento BAFTA Fellowship, para los logros de toda una carrera en el medio del cine, fue concedido a la diseñadora de vestuario, Sandy Powell (Shakespeare in Love, El aviador, Pandillas de New York, La joven Victoria, El regreso de Mary Poppins).
